Sophie Bidek established herself early in her career as a strong leader and design visionary on complicated programmatic projects directing multi-disciplinary development teams. The firm’s youngest architect to be named Partner, Sophie is an adept problem solver on complex adaptive-reuse projects and cutting-edge new structures. She is at the design helm of record-setting projects such as One Chicago, a 2.2M SF, mixed-use, multi-tower development that will be the city’s 6th tallest skyscraper; No. 9 Walton, an ultra-luxury condominium tower with the most $3M+ sales in Chicago; and Nashville Warehouse Co., a mixed-use commercial and residential development that is the city’s first large-scale mass timber structure. Sophie leads each project team from entitlement through to construction; provides design strategy and project oversight; and serves as the client’s key contact.
She is the 2024 President of CREW Chicago’s Board of Directors, and committed to advancing the profession by hiring, mentoring and promoting women in the design and construction industry.
Sophie holds a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She was recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business on its list of 2021 Notable Women in Construction and Design.
