Krista Weir is an Associate Partner and HPA’s Director of Historic Preservation. She joined HPA in 2012 upon completing her Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and working with the firm as a summer intern.

Her area of interest is architectural history, with an emphasis on cultural heritage. She has provided leadership on several of the firm’s significant renovation projects, including Hotel 1928 in Waco, the Chicago Athletic Association, Hotel Essex, and Bush Temple of Music. She leads HPA’s Historic Preservation Group, contributing her expertise firm-wide on conservation and adaptive reuse issues.

A licensed Architect and a Certified Construction Document Technologist, Krista works on all aspects of project delivery, including design, drawings and project management. She is experienced at coordinating hotel and restaurant projects, and solving problems with existing conditions in vintage buildings.
