920 North Wells Breaks Ground
On May 10, 2022, the project team celebrated kicking off Phase One of North Union with the groundbreaking of 920 North Wells. When complete in Summer 2023, the 21-story residential tower will feature 238 upscale apartments, ground-level retail, and expansive indoor and outdoor amenities. Its 325,000 SF structure is comprised of post-tensioned concrete, with a metal panel and window-wall façade detailed with architectural fins and horizontal slab edges.
Aldermen Walter Burnett, 27th Ward, and Brian Hopkins, 2nd Ward, joined JDL Development’s Jim Letchinger, and representatives from Square Mile Capital, Intercontinental Real Estate, HPA and Power Construction at the groundbreaking.
Key team members include JDL Development, HPA, Power Construction, SPACECO, Forefront Structural Engineers, IMEG and Omni Ecosystems. The second project of this phase — an apartment tower with 410 residential units at 878 North Wells Street – is anticipated to begin construction in Fall 2022.
